Ну, какой нормальный человек скажет "I know South Korea better than anybody"?

Greater Tokyo Area (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Tokyo_Area).
Who cares though? The guy is full of shit no matter what he is talking about.
The metropolitan area is about 25 million actually.

Date: 2020-03-31 02:02 am (UTC)Yup, that must be it.
At least he is not talking about drugs for coronavirus.

Date: 2020-03-31 02:13 am (UTC)Yeah, but he does talk about drugs for coronavirus and all other kinds of things that do matter to ordinary people. And he talks about them in the same way he talks about Seoul's population, with utter disregard for science or just for reality in general.
And there are people who still take him seriously. I am not talking about trolls, but just regular people who do trust him.

There are “regular people” who believe the “My Pillow” guy who says that Trump is the greatest president in history and was chosen by God.
And some trust this guy who sells pictures of MyPillow guy https://yakov-a-jerkov.livejournal.com/1808978.html?thread=66925650#t66925650
We are against a dangerous cult. Being moronic doesn’t make it less dangerous.

Date: 2020-03-31 06:00 am (UTC)

Date: 2020-03-31 12:35 pm (UTC)President Donald Trump quoted Gateway Pundit conspiracy blogger Jim Hoft during a Fox News town hall to falsely claim that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo refused to purchase 16,000 ventilators in 2015, when no such purchase was considered or offered.
During a very friendly town hall event on Fox News, Trump responded to Cuomo’s recent complaint about the paltry number of ventilators being sent to the state.

Date: 2020-03-31 12:52 pm (UTC)The president spent nearly two months issuing confusing and contradictory signals — leaving the bureaucratic machine of the U.S. government to chart the course for the coronavirus response.
The CDC designed its own test. The FDA picked a conservative testing strategy, allowing labs to use only the CDC test. When those tests failed, neither a new strategy nor a new test was available for more than two weeks. Azar failed to push the agencies to change direction, and the president didn’t intervene.
Even then, widespread testing was not immediately available. It’s not just the number of tests that are the problem — it’s getting the materials to do the tests and the personal protective medical equipment for providers to give those tests. That means we may never have a true count of how many Americans contracted the virus.
The missteps that went unmanaged were ignored by leaders at the highest level of government and allowed cases to go undetected, contributing to the spike in the virus’s spread.

"The weapon that can protect us from the new coronavirus is not fear and aversion but trust and cooperation. We have the world’s best quarantine-related capabilities. We also have accumulated experience from past incidents. Moreover, the Government is doing its best. We will be able to prevail successfully provided that the people and local communities cooperate. If the central and local governments go to any length together to do their work and each and every one of us thoroughly sticks to the guidelines for preventing the spread of disease, we will be able to surmount this while minimizing damage from the new coronavirus. I believe that the people possess the maturity needed, and the Government will double its efforts as well."

"Now we’re working very strongly with China on the coronavirus — that’s a new thing that a lot of people are talking about. Hopefully it won’t be as bad as some people think it could be. But we’re working very closely with them and with a lot of other people and a lot of other countries. And we think we have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment — five. And those people are all recuperating successfully. But we’re working very closely with China and other countries, and we think it’s going to have a very good ending for it. So that I can assure you."

Date: 2020-03-31 07:35 pm (UTC)Trump was also shown a satellite image of the Korean peninsula at night, showing the lights of China and South Korea and the blackness of North Korea in between. Trump initially mistook the void for an ocean. When he was shown the bright lights of Seoul just 30 miles south of the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas, the president asked: “Why is Seoul so close to the North Korean border?”
Trump had been repeatedly told that US freedom of action against North Korea was constrained by the fact that the regime’s artillery could demolish the South Korean capital in retaliation for any attack, inflicting mass casualties on its population of 25 million.
“They have to move,” Trump said, according to Bergen, who adds that his officials were initially unsure if the president was joking. But Trump then repeated the line. “They have to move!”
No action was taken in response to Trump’s bizarre remark, but the situation grew steadily worse, with a series of North Korean intercontinental ballistic missile tests and a hydrogen bomb test in September 2017.
After watching a retired four-star general, Jack Keane, interviewed on Fox News in late January 2018, saying that US troops deployed to South Korea should not take their families with them, Bergen reports that Trump told his national security team: “I want an evacuation of American civilians from South Korea.”
A senior official warned that such an evacuation would be interpreted as a signal that the US was ready to go to war, and would crash the South Korean stock market, but Trump is reported to have ignored the warning, telling his team: “Go do it!”
Alarmed Pentagon officials ignored the order, and – according to Bergen – Trump eventually dropped the idea.
